Andrew Snyder

Editorial Director, Editor of Inside Investing Daily and Unconventional Wealth

Andrew Snyder is the Editorial Director of Insiders Strategy Group and Editor of Inside Investing Daily. Andy entered the world of finance as an advisor working with one of the nation's largest investment firms. He specialized in handling the vast portfolios of wealthy clients, where he excelled at making them even wealthier. In the years since getting on the inside of the industry Andy, earned his MBA, published an award-winning book and has been published in numerous publications -- with over 1,500 articles and columns in his name. He has also appeared on Fox News and other media outlets.

With his background in research combined with his hedge fund-style education and knowledge of the market, Andy is acclaimed for his no-nonsense style of writing and his sharp, deep-thinking analysis. His goal is to use his knack for Wall Street research and analysis to lead his readers to little-known profit opportunities.

Andy's readers have described him as unshakeable, suspiciously knowledgeable and just a bit nutty; these qualities have led him to uncover market-moving events and turn them into reliable, double- and triple-digit gains.

In his spare time, Andy's passion is being out in the outdoors. He spent two years living in the Alaskan wilderness, 50 miles by floatplane from the closest grocery store or emergency room. If he had any other job, it would be guiding anglers back in Alaska, where he met his wife and many of his closest friends.

What is a hot sector for 2012? Natural gas. The industry is about to expand at a pace like we've never seen. But, despite the common approach, America is not the only country that will see a major boom thanks to shale gas. In fact, Poland is working to develop a field as big as our Marcellus formation... and then some. As this fresh European supply of gas comes online, it will change the dynamics of the industry. Within the next few years -- starting right now -- the natural gas industry as we know it will change significantly. When it does, investors will have some great profit opportunities.

What is one thing an investor should consider when picking a stock? Timing. There is no stronger variable than market timing. An investor can have all the analysis and research in the world, but if he doesn’t have the skill to understand when to get in and when to get out, he will never rise above mediocrity.

What do you like to do in your free time? I live in a century-old farmhouse with a couple of acres to maintain. My first priority when I’m not in research-and-invest mode is keeping up with my chores. My typical weekend could involve rewiring the basement or cutting firewood. But my real passion and what I enjoy like nothing else is getting outside. I spent two years living in Alaska’s wilderness, a 50-mile floatplane ride from the nearest grocery store or emergency room, so any time I get to relive my time on the water or in the woods, it is no question where I’ll be.

What job would you be doing if you weren't editor and analyst extraordinaire? Easy answer -- I’d be back in the middle of nowhere guiding anglers in Alaska’s pristine wilderness. It’s where I met my wife. It’s where I have some of my best friends. And it’s where I thought I was going to meet my maker on more than a couple of occasions. If I weren’t so darn good at this investing game, I’d be back in a heartbeat.
